Survival Memo
The first thing I would recommend in group projects such as
this is to get yourself organized – especially for those of us who are juggling
multiple classes. In addition, keep in contact with your group members on a
regular basis as there are many pieces that need to fit into the right places
at the right time for everything to come together. Along with this thought,
your group members can help with any support you may need, for whatever reason.
I certainly found this out during the later stages of our project.
Lastly, be there for whatever is needed to get the project completed in a
timely manner.
Yes Dan! Everything you have shared here is true. Especially getting to know your group members so that there is a level of comfortability so that when problems arise group members are willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. Organizational skills and open lines of communication are also very important which you have shared in your survival memo. I think many people who are new to the ACE program may not be familiar with group work and the amount of it that takes place within our courses so it is important to share the lessons we have learned with those who are coming after us. After all isn't that what adult educators do? Great work and thank you for sharing.
